Everything is in horror &
horror is in everything
Welcome! I'm Kayla Moreé or @PrismatiKayla and I spend way too much time, energy, and money on horror. I have come to believe that everything is in horror and that horror is in everything, meaning anything could be a horror movie with a few tweaks and that all horror movies contain deeper themes and plots that delve into the spectrums in human emotion.
My opinion is obviously bias towards horror but nonetheless much of what you'll find on Red Rose Horror is in pursuit of arguing and supporting that belief. I also have an unproven theory that people who don't like horror just haven't watched the right horror for them yet or have antiquated beliefs about the genre that haven't been true since 1979.
My posts aim to incorporate historical context, background information, pop culture knowledge, and broader critique when reviewing media that shows the interconnected nature of art, including horror. In theory by examining the media that culture is producing (and the cultural reaction to it) we can better understand facets of our collective culture and thus ourselves. This site, Red Rose Horror, and my related content seeks to contribute to those broader conversations while serving as a personal creative outlet. The media reviewed includes but isn't limited to movies, shows, and books with the overarching view that everything really is that deep.

Content Warning
Red Rose Horror content contains strong language, graphic imagery, and discussion of NSFW topics throughout and if that isn't what you're looking for you've found the wrong place. Spoiler warnings are not provided so please proceed with caution for covered media.
