Welcome to a Shadow...

Red Rose Horror is a horror review site and creative space curated by writer and critic [<REDACTED?/>]. On this site horror is more than profit generating entertainment—it's a mirror which can inform about individual motivations, group dynamics, and the broader world at large.

Content warning: All posts contain strong language, descriptions of graphic imagery or content and discussion of NSFW topics—if that isn't your jam that is okay. This is a space about fear, the things that terrify, and what that could mean. Spoiler warnings are provided in most posts but please proceed with caution.

Red Rose Horror is dedicated to reviews, essays, and videos about the horror genre from movies and shows to books and topics. Balancing personal insight and historical context I write about what is haunting, harrowing, heartbreaking, and of course horrifying. Many posts explore what horror can tell us about grief, rage, gender, race, and the shadows of society.
My writing style blends the poetic with research analysis that is rooted in a deep love for horror (both popular and obscure media). Like many horror fans I’m interested in what scares us and not only why we love that scare but what that says about us (and sometimes what it doesn’t say). Here horror is examined as not only entertainment but as a mirror held up to us through storytelling, archetypes, themes, and other elements.
