Welcome! I'm @PrismatiKayla and I believe that everything can be horror and that horror can be in anything. My opinion is obviously bias towards horror but nonetheless much of what you'll find on this site is in pursuit of that belief. I also have an unproven theory that people who don't like horror just haven't watched the right horror for them yet or have antiquated beliefs about the genre that haven't been true since 1989.

Posts aim to incorporate historical context, background information, pop culture knowledge, and broader critique when reviewing media. In theory by examining media we can better understand facets of our collective cultures and ourselves; this site, Red Rose Horror, and related content seeks to contribute to those larger conversations. Reviewed media includes but isn't limited to movies, shows, and books with the overarching view that everything really is that deep.

Opening with the final product Faceless After Dark released in 2023 starring Jenna Kanell as Bowie, a B-horror movie actress who has just broken into the industry. While the movie itself is not the biggest blockbuster of horror films it has more care and reverence for the subject matter it covers than the fake movie in the film.
